I. ADOPT AGENDA: Adopted agenda as presented.
II. RECOGNITION
- A. GOOD CHARACTER SALUTE RECIPIENTS: Recognized honesty recipients, student Anthony Bullock from Shopville Elementary and teacher Pam Strunk from Shopville.
- B. SANDY HENDERSON NATIONAL TEACHER CERTIFICATION: Honored Sandy Henderson, teacher at Pulaski Elementary for her achievement.
III. COMMUNICATIONS/REPORTS
- A. SCHOOL RENOVATIONS/ADDITIONS: Ed Cook reported the following: the Southwestern HS baseball/softball field is now underway, the State Department has approved the Southern Elementary Phase II renovations, the Pulaski County HS field house should be completed in 30 days, and Pulaski County Schools entered a partnership with Pulaski County Youth Football League to build facilities at Southern Middle School.
- B. CERTIFIED/CLASSIFIED/VOLUNTEER PERSONNEL ACTIONS: Reported to Board.
- C. STUDENT DROPOUT: Current dropout rate at 1.56%
- D. SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT: Superintendent Tim Eaton discussed recent budget news. He will attend a meeting on April 3rd in Frankfort to get further details.
IV. ACTION ITEMS WITH DISCUSSION
- A. TREASURER'S REPORT/AUTHORIZE PAYMENT OF BILLS: Approved
- B. BUS PURCHASES: Approved purchase of 4 buses.
- C. DECLARE SURPLUS (9) SCHOOL BUSES TO BE SOLD THROUGH KISTA PROGRAM: Approved
- D. 2002-2003 SCHOOL CALENDAR AMENDMENT: Approved amendment to change March 17th and 18th from academy days to regular school days.
V. ACTION ITEMS BY CONSENT
- A. MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 11, 2003: Approved minutes from previous meeting.
- B. LOCAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT PERSONAL SERVICES CONTRACT: Contracted for additional nurse at PCHS and NMS.
- C. TWO SHORTENED SCHOOL DAY REQUESTS: Approved
- D. PROJECT GRADUATION REQUESTS PCHS/SWHS: Approved support for project graduation.
- E. OUT OF STATE TRIP REQUESTS: Approved PCHS cheerleading, Approved PCHS DECA, Approved SWHS DECA, Approved PC Summer travel group.
- F. SCHOOLWIDE FUND-RAISING PROJECT REQUEST: Approved request from Southern Elementary kindergarten.
VI. EXECUTIVE SESSION KRS 61.810 (1) (c) PENDING LITIGATION: Met in executive session. No action taken.
