II. RECOGNITION
- A. GOOD CHARACTER SALUTE RECIPIENTS: Recognized contemplation recipients, student Dale Glover from Eubank Elementary and adult recipient, Boyd Randolph from Southwestern High School.
- B. SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS OF THE YEAR: Recognized 2002-2003 Volunteers of the Year as follows: Nora Anderson (Southern Elementary), Debbie Bradley (Northern Middle), Nancy Bradley (Shopville Elementary), Vicki Bray (Southern Middle), Judy Burdine (Pulaski Central), Cindy Clark (Pulaski Elementary), Angie Flynn (Oak Hill Elementary), Mark Fothergill (SWHS), Elaine Frye (Nancy Elementary), Laura Garrison (PCHS), Sunshine Miller (Burnside Elementary), Heidie Ridner (Memorial Education Center), Shirley Vaught (Eubank Elementary), and Becky Wilson (Woodstock Elementary).

- B. CERTIFIED/CLASSIFIED/VOLUNTEER PERSONNEL ACTIONS: Reported to Board.
- C. STUDENT DROPOUT: Year to date dropout rate at 2.07%
- D. SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT: No report.
IV. ACTION ITEMS WITH DISCUSSION
- A. MINUTES OF APRIL 15, 2003: Approved
- B. TREASURER’S REPORT/AUTHORIZE PAYMENT OF BILLS: Approved
- C. DISTRICT 2003-2004 SALARY SCHEDULE: Approved mandated $1080 raise for certified staff earning under $40,000, 2.7% increase for certified staff earning over $40,000, $500 increase for certified staff with 25 or more years, and a 3% increase for classified staff.
- D. 2003-2004 TENTATIVE WORKING BUDGET: Approved total budget of 49.3 million.
- E. 2003-2004 SCHOOL CALENDAR: Revised calendar approved. (See new calendar posted on website).
- F. 2003-2004 KINDERGARTEN CALENDAR: Revised calendar approved. (See new calendar posted on website).
- G. CHANGE ORDER PCHS PHASE VI: Change order approved.
- H. PULASKI ELEM. BG-1 AND STANDARD AGREEMENT OWNER/ARCHITECT PARTICLE ROOF REPLACEMENT: Roof replacement approved.
- I. SHOPVILLE ELEM. BG-1 AND STANDARD AGREEMENT OWNER/ARCHITECT PARTICLE ROOF REPLACEMENT: Roof replacement approved.
V. ACTION ITEMS BY CONSENT
- A. EARLY GRADUATION REQUESTS: Approved
- B. CODE OF CONDUCT UPDATES: Approved revision of the Code of Conduct and Attendance Policy for 2003-2004. Major revisions include changes in transportation and attendance sections as well as a major reorganization for clarity and ease of reference.
- C. JOB DESCRIPTION AMENDMENT/GIFTED AND TALENTED EDUCATION SPECIALIST: Approved
- D. BOARD POLICY AMENDMENT 09.4261 FIRST READING: Approved draft of telecommunication devices possession and use. Reading of the policy allows possession of telecommunications.
- E. LEASE AGREEMENT PAC VAN LEASING AND SALES/SOUTHERN ELEM. RENOVATION PHASE II PROJECT: Approved
- F. PARTICIPATION 2003-2004 SUMMER FEEDING PROGRAM: Approved participation in summer feeding program. Camps, bible schools or other interested community groups should contact Lucille Hudson for more information.
- G. DISTRICT MEAL PRICES 2003-2004: Approved raising the price of the adult breakfast price from $1.00 to $1.25. All other meal prices will remain unchanged.
- H. APPROVED VENDORS LIST 2003-2004: Approved
- I. SHORTENED SCHOOL DAY: Approved
- J. SCHOOLWIDE FUND-RAISING PROJECT REQUEST: Approved fund raising request for Oak Hill Elementary.
- K. USE OF FACILITIES REQUESTS: Approved the use of the gymnasiums at Pulaski County High and Northern Middle School for basketball team camps.
VI. EXECUTIVE SESSION KRS 61.810 (1) (c) PENDING LITIGATION, STUDENT HEARING AND (f) PERSONNEL: Met in executive session.
