II. RECOGNITION

  1. GOOD CHARACTER RECIPIENTS: Recognized loyalty recipients, student Cole Draughn from Pulaski County High School and adult recipient, Pat Richardson from Eubank Elementary School.
  2. PRESCHOOL TEACHERS: Recognized the following preschool teachers as Kentucky Preschool Resource Classrooms: Mary Hendrickson (Shopville Elementary), Jamie Godby (Memorial Education Center), Kay Siegel (Woodstock Elementary), and Donna Butt (Nancy
  3. Elementary).

  3. SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT: Superintendent Tim Eaton discussed American Education Week and the mall event kick off; his requested visit to Frankfort to discuss the importance of vocational education to a senate subcommittee; our district’s invitation to the winter KSBA conference to do a presentation on strong community involvement in our schools; and Veteran’s Day appreciation/tribute with a poem read by Bill Boyd.
  4. Resolution in memory of beloved, departed 37 year Eubank employee, Jasmine York.

IV. ACTION ITEMS WITH DISCUSSION

  1. TREASURER’S REPORT/AUTHORIZE PAYMENT OF BILLS: Approved
  2. CREATE/AMEND/ABOLISH PERSONNEL POSITIONS: Created 2 grant funded media assistant positions and 1 first grade teacher position at Oak Hill Elementary.
  3. CHARTER COMMUNICATIONS CONTRACT PROPOSAL: Approved a technology contract to upgrade the entire system for speed and capability.
  4. PURCHASE 9 SCHOOL BUSES: Approved purchase of 9 conventional 66 passenger buses.
  5. KETS OFFER OF ASSISTANCE 2004: Approved matching funds offer of assistance for technology.

  5. COMMON CARRIER REQUEST SWHS FOOTBALL PLAYOFF GAME: Approved.
  6. GAS LINE TAP ON CHARGES: Approved Oak Hill area, Southwestern High School
  7. COMMON CARRIER REQUEST PCHS FOOTBALL PLAYOFF GAME: Approved
