II. RECOGNITION
- GOOD CHARACTER SALUTES: Recognized Honesty recipients, student Elizabeth Walters from Southwestern High School and adult recipient Patti Harris from Northern Middle School. Also recognized student recipient for Compassion, Evan Sutton.
- NORTHERN MIDDLE SCHOOL - KMSA AWARD “A SCHOOL TO WATCH”: Fran Salyers from the Kentucky Middle School Association commended Northern Middle for being named a “School to Watch”. “Schools to Watch” are examples of middle schools that are academically excellent, developmentally responsive to the needs of young adolescents, socially equitable for all students, and organized in a way to sustain improvement and achievement. Northern Middle is one of only 3 middle schools in Kentucky to be named and will serve as a model for other schools to learn from and visit.
- PRISM AWARDS: Recognized Elementary level PRISM award recipients, Melissa Tucker from Nancy Elementary and Donna Petrey from Eubank Elementary; Middle School level recipient Tammy Portwood from Southern Middle; High School level recipient Lisa White from Southwestern High School and Administrative level recipient Angela Murphy from Northern Middle.

- CERTIFIED/CLASSIFIED/PERSONNEL ACTIONS: Reported to Board
- STUDENT DROP-OUT REPORT: 2.2%
- SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT: Superintendent Tim Eaton reported on a promising state budget including an increase in SEEK funds and an increase in ESS funds; budget also includes funding for a secondary education vocational school opportunity and Superintendent Eaton announced the completion of half of the SBDM board meetings focusing on achievement gaps.
- EMPLOYEE RESOLUTIONS: Assistant Superintendent Steve Butcher presented a retirement resolution to the Board with deepest appreciation and respect for retiree John Price. Also presented a resolution to the Board expressing sincere and profound regret at the passing of a well-respected member of the staff, Eugene Borkholder.

- RESOLUTION FOR PARTICIPATION KISTA 2005 USED SCHOOL BUS SALE: Approved
- DISTRICT FINANCIAL AUDIT CONTRACT 2004-2005: Approved White & Associates
V. ACTION ITEMS APPROVED BY CONSENT
- MINUTES FEBRUARY 15, 17, 24, 2005: Approved
- EARLY GRADUATION REQUESTS: Approved
- SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHY CONTRACTS 2005-2006: Approved McEachern Photo and Lifetouch of Bardstown for Elementary and Middle Schools and Lifetouch of Knoxville for High Schools.
- SHORTENED SCHOOL DAY REQUEST: Approved
- OUT OF STATE TRIP REQUESTS DECA: Approved Southwestern High School and Pulaski County High School DECA requests for National DECA conference in California.
- SURPLUS PROPERTY: Declared assorted classroom furniture and a ladder jack as surplus property.
