II. RECOGNITION

  1. GOOD CHARACTER SALUTES: Recognized Perseverance recipients, student Whitley Stogsdill from Eubank Elementary and adult recipient Debbie Erney from Southern Elementary.
  2. DISTRICT VOLUNTEERS APPRECIATION: Recognized 2004-2005 Volunteers of the Year as follows: Rosie Beard (Memorial Education Center), Vicki Bray (Southern Middle), Tammy Caudill (Oak Hill Elementary), Shawnda Franklin (Southern Elementary), Susan Hansford (Pulaski County High School), Linda Jones (Burnside Elementary), Phyllis Meece (Woodstock Elementary), Kemo & Diana Padgett (Nancy Elementary), Atha Petrey (Pulaski Central), Michelle Petty (Northern Middle), Candy Ping (Pulaski Elementary), Renee Pratt (Eubank Elementary), Tina White (Shopville Elementary) and Dennis Wilson (Southwestern High School).
  3. PRISM RECIPIENTS: Recognized Elementary level PRISM award recipients Cindy Dick from Pulaski Elementary and Connie Isaacs from Shopville Elementary; Middle School level recipient Fran Troxtell from Southern Middle; High School level recipient Beth Hargis from Pulaski County High School and Administrative level recipient Charlene Childers, Nancy Elementary principal.

  2. STUDENT DROP-OUT REPORT: 3%
  3. SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT: Superintendent Tim Eaton discussed proposed random drug testing for high school students targeting student drivers and students involved in extra-curricular activities. Eaton emphasized the testing is not to be a punitive measure, but a preventive measure to deter drug use.

IV. ACTION ITEMS APPROVED WITH DISCUSSION

  1. TREASURER’S REPORT, AUTHORIZE PAYMENT OF BILLS: Approved
  2. 2005-2006 TENTATIVE WORKING BUDGET: Approved
  3. 2005-2006 SALARY SCHEDULE: Approved a 3% minimum increase for all classified and certified employees.
  4. SCHOOL DISTRICT PRIMARY AND SECONDARY DEPOSITORIES: Approved Monticello Banking Company as the primary depository effective July 1, 2005. Citizens National Bank and Cumberland Security Bank awarded secondary depositories.
  5. CREATE/AMEND/ABOLISH PERSONNEL POSITIONS: Approved creation of Early Reading Integrated Grant teacher at Woodstock Elementary and Principal’s Secretary position at Northern Middle. Amended several positions across the district.V.
  6. CODE OF ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR AND STUDENT ATTENDANCE POLICY 2005-2006: Approved

  3. PAYROLL DEDUCTION MUTUAL OF OMAHA: Approved
  4. USE OF FACILITY REQUEST: Approved the use of the Pulaski County High School gym for Christian group “Casting Crowns” on Friday, June 3 at 7:30.
  5. OUT OF STATE TRIP REQUEST: Approved Northern Middle School BETA trip to Washington, D.C.
  6. SFCC KETS OFFER OF ASSISTANCE FY-2005 : Approved
