I. ADOPT AGENDA: Agenda adopted as presented

II. RECOGNITION

  1. RECOGNITION PRISM AWARDS: Recognized Elementary School level PRISM award recipient, Christina Ross from Southern Elementary; Secondary level recipient, Hana Smith from Pulaski County High School and Administrative level recipient, June Branscum, Curriculum Specialist at Southern Elementary School.
  2. KENTUCKY ASSOCIATION OF EDUCATIONAL SUPERVISORS (KAES) SUPERVISOR OF THE YEAR: Recognized District Assessment Coordinator, Carole Hancock for receiving the KAES Supervisor of the Year Award.
     

III. COMMUNICATIONS/REPORTS

  1. ENERGY EDUCATION UPDATE: Energy Manager B.J. Lawson reported on increased energy costs. Of 700 school districts in the state of Kentucky, ours was in the top 2% of cost avoidance (amount a district avoids spending due to conservation) for the ‘04-’05 school year.
  2. CERTIFIED/CLASSIFIED PERSONNEL ACTIONS: Reported to Board
  3. SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT: Superintendent Tim Eaton reported on the recent High School restructuring meeting he and others board members attended commenting that we need to begin preparation for upcoming changes at the high school level. Eaton also reported that the voc/tech program and building is on track making good progress. Assistant Superintendent Marlene Haney reported the addition of math coaches at every school to help improve math scores.

  1. TREASURER’S REPORT, AUTHORIZE PAYMENT OF BILLS: Approved
  2. CREATE/AMEND/ABOLISH PERSONNEL POSITIONS: Increased records management clerk position at Central Office to a 6 hour day.
  3. DESIGN DEVELOPMENT APPROVAL VO/TECH CENTER: Approved
  4. PARTICIPATING RESOLUTION KENTUCKY INTERLOCAL SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION ASSOCIATION (KISTA): Approved 12 new buses
  5. DISTRICT FINANCIAL AUDIT 2005: Approved
  6. EMERGENCY ONE READING AMENDING BOARD POLICY/PROCEDURE 03.27 AND 03.27 AP.1: Approved

  1. MINUTES OCTOBER 11, 2005: Approved
  2. PRESCHOOL PARTICIPATION UK RESEARCH GRANT: Approved
  3. MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING OAKWOOK-KY FOSTER GRANDPARENT VOLUNTEER PROGRAM: Approved
  4. DAY TREATMENT CENTER STANDARD OPERATIONS & PROCEDURES UPDATE: Approved
  5. EARLY GRADUATION REQUESTS: Approved
  6. PERMISSION TO DECLARE MISCELLANEOUS SURPLUS ITEMS: Declared miscellaneous furniture and equipment as surplus property.
  7. ADDENDUM TO LIST OF APPROVED VENDORS: Approved the addition of SXL Sound, Jodie Kirkpatrick to the approved vendors list.
