  1. SOUTHERN MIDDLE SPEECH/DRAMA TEAM: Under the direction of Tammy Portwood and Tamara Sparks, Southern Middle School Speech/Drama team presented skits and monologue on peer pressure.

  2. THIRD I&I CHECKS 2004-2006 CDIP: Reviewed by Board.
  3. CERTIFIED/CLASSIFIED PERSONNEL ACTIONS: Reported to Board.
  4. STUDENT DROPOUT REPORT: .85%
  5. SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT: Superintendent Tim Eaton provided a brief update on the Vocational/Education program.
  6. READING FIRST: District Reading First Coach, Margaret Mauney and the School Reading First Coaches, Dreama Tomlison representing Burnside Elementary and Stephanie Bland from Nancy Elementary provided a PowerPoint presentation illustrating key components the two Reading First schools are using to meet improved reading skills and goals. Impressive results were apparent after six months from program implementation.

  2. CREATE/AMEND/ABOLISH PERSONNEL POSITIONS: Created teaching position at Nancy Elementary.
