I. ACTION ITEMS

  1. ADOPT AGENDA: Agenda approved as presented

II. RECOGNITION

  1. District Prism Recipients: Recognized Elementary level PRISM recipient, Sherry Pierce from Nancy Elementary and Administrative recipient, Lisa Black, Curriculum Specialist from Eubank Elementary.
  2. Shopville Elem. Kindergarten Class “The First Thanksgiving”: Shirley Hargis presented her kindergarten class from Shopville Elementary as winning the “Finalist” award for their recent book publication of “The First Thanksgiving” in the Nationwide Learning National Book Challenge contest. Students presented their personal version which is narrated in the book. Winners will be announced the first week of May.

III. COMMUNICATIONS/REPORTS

  1. CERTIFIED/CLASSIFIED PERSONNEL ACTIONS: Reported to Board
  2. Student Drop Out Report: 1%
  3. Superintendent’s Report: Superintendent Tim Eaton reported TTAI and Toyota cooperatively donated $10,000 to be allocated to Student Services for the school district’s needy and at-risk students; paid special tribute to Vice Chairman, Ms. Helen Hansford as attending her last board meeting as a board of education member; announced a reception for Ms. Hansford will be held at the January 9, 2007 board meeting and announced Danita Ellis as the new secondary supervisor replacing Carole Hancock who is now serving as full time district assessment coordinator.
  4. Sonya Wilds, Director of Student Services provided results from surveys taken by the Center for Safe School and KIP showing a decrease in drug use of 8% from 2005 and a 5% increase of a negative perception for marijuana use.

  2. Create/Amend/Abolish Personnel Positions: Approved creation of boys and girls assistant track coach positions at Southwestern and Pulaski County High Schools.
  3. Revised BG-1 & BG-3 PCHS Grandstand Bleachers: Approved
  4. Change Order #1 Area Technology Center: Approved
  5. Change Order #1 Oak Hill Classroom Addition: Approved
  6. BG-3 Pulaski Elementary Schools Gym Flooring: Approved
  7. Won Way Communication School Notification System: Approved for a contract period from January 1 to June 30, 2007.
  8. Bond of the Treasurer for Bill Boyd, Barry Cooke: Approved
