  2. Student Drop-Out Report: 1.5%
  3. Superintendent’s Report: Superintendent Tim Eaton provided an update to recent legislation from the General Session including: proposed cigarette tax of 75 cents and 6% tax on some services hoping to refund some higher education dollars and restore KEES money; mention of a 1% teacher raise and 3% for the second year of the biennium; proposal to refund flexible focus funds and some base funding for fuel costs. Assistant Superintendent Marlene Haney outlined corrective action as to address recent findings from the district review. Director of Student and Community Services, Sonya Wilds distributed copies from the National Drug Control Strategy 2008 Annual Report as endorsed by President Bush and submitted to Congress. The district’s comprehensive random drug testing program leaped Pulaski County Schools forward to lead the nation in student drug prevention and control. Superintendent Eaton, through a PowerPoint illustration, provided demographic data analysis and mapping from the Center for Educational Research in Appalachia.

Support spaces have been sized for a future enrollment of 500-600 students.
