II. Recognition

  1. Jody Paver, SWHS, Ashland Inc. Teacher Achievement Award: Recognized Southwestern High School Family Consumer Science teacher, Jody Paver placing among the state’s top 25 teachers nominated for the Ashland Inc. Teacher Achievement Award.
  2. Presentation of SACS Accreditation Certificates: Certificates were presented to principals for continuing accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Pulaski County Schools is one of 52 out of 74 school districts in KY where all schools in the district achieve SACS accreditation.

III. Communications and Reports

  1. Personnel Actions, Certified and Classified: Reported to Board
  2. Superintendent’s Report: Superintendent Tim Eaton reported No Child Left Behind Tier III issues are ongoing as a Target Assistance Coach has been assigned to the district by the state’s Blue Ribbon Panel.

V. Action Items Approved by Consent

  1. Board Meeting Minutes, September 9, 2008: Approved
  2. MOU Adanta Group: Approved
  3. Shortened School Day Requests: Approved
  4. Donation of Property to Pulaski Central School: Accepted piano donation to Pulaski Central School
  5. Addendum to Local Approved Vendor’s List 2008-2009: Added Beefy King of Somerset, Kimberly Altenhofen—Stuff and Fluff Animal Workshop, and Mike Taylor Machine, Inc. to the approved vendors list.
  6. School Wide Fund Raising Activity Requests: Approved fund raisers for Oak Hill Elementary and Woodstock Elementary.
  7. Use of Facility Request: Approved use of PCHS auditorium by Lake Cumberland Children’s Theatre for December 13th and 14th performances.
  8. Declare Surplus Property: Declared various technology equipment as surplus property.
