- Glenn Gaines, Energy Education Presenting – Chairman’s Sustainability Award: Award presented for having achieved a 33% energy cost savings.
- Woodstock Elementary STLP Team: Team presented a digital scrapbook of Woodstock Elementary from the school’s opening in 1957 to present.
- PRISM Recipients: Recognized High School level recipient, Pat
Carpenter from Southwestern High School, Middle School level recipient,
Kristy Nicely from Northern Middle and Elementary level recipient, Rhonda
Hewitt from Shopville Elementary.
III. Communications and Reports
- Personnel Actions, Certified and Classified: Reported to Board
- Superintendent’s Report: Superintendent Tim Eaton reported that the fifth grade gifted program recently attended the UK Biomedical Center. Also, that several schools presented outstanding Veteran’s Day programs. Eaton illustrated with a PowerPoint slide of how ‘educators are expected to do more with less’ according to budget cut mandates. In addition, Eaton reported that he has been appointed by the commissioner of education to serve an additional two years on the Local Superintendents Advisory Committee.
