Physical Activity Opportunities
Middle and High School Level
Pulaski County High School
6 classes advanced physical education
12 classes freshman health and PE combination Physical activities: marching band, dance team, cheerleading, soccer, basketball, football, volleyball, golf, cross country, track and field, baseball, softball, JROTC, rifle team, weight lifting, tennis, and swimming.
Southwestern High School
6 classes of advanced physical education
6 classes of freshman physical education Physical activities: marching band, dance team, cheerleading, soccer, basketball, football, volleyball, golf, cross country, track and field, baseball, softball, JROTC, and tennis.
Northern Middle School
All students, with the exception of band and chorus students will have 9 weeks of daily physical activity each year. Band and Chorus students will have 9 weeks of physical education once or twice during the middle school years.
Physical Activities: football, cheerleading, dance, basketball, soccer, softball, baseball, volleyball, and archery.
Southern Middle School
All students receive physical education for one nine week period each year. Band students do not receive physical education.
Physical Activities: football, baseball, soccer, softball, basketball, dance, cheerleading, and archery.
Note: Some middle school students participate in physical activity at the high school level if the middle school does not field a team in their interest area. For example; track and field or cross country teams frequently have middle school aged participants.
